Online Bill Pay

The City of Kalamazoo is pleased to offer its customers an alternative way to pay water/sewer, property tax, and miscellaneous bills. This service is provided through a respected major third-party payment processor (Point & Pay), and is a safe and reliable way to pay your city bills online. A convenience fee (3%, with a minimum being $2.00) will be charged for the use of a debit or credit card.  Electronic checks will be charged a flat fee of $3.00 for payments ups to $10,000.  A flat fee of $10 will be charges for any electronic check over $10,000.  Point & Pay will collect the convenience fee.

What city bills can I pay?

You can pay your water/sewer bill, your current property tax bill, and other bills you receive from the City Treasurer.

How can I pay?

Online – You can pay by authorizing us to charge your checking account, or by using your debit/credit card issued by VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card.

Pay by Phone – You can pay using your phone by calling 866-273-5523 and authorizing a charge to your checking account, or by using your debit/credit card issued by VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card. You will need your parcel number (for tax), Account ID (for water/sewer), Invoice number (for miscellaneous receivables).

Pay by USPS Mail – Make checks payable to: Kalamazoo City Treasurer.

If your water bill is PAST DUE and you have received a recent shut off notice and you wish to make an online or phone system payment, please note the following: 

   First – Make your payment  
  • Your payment can be made online by selecting the web link below.
  • You may also use the automated phone system to make your payment by calling 866-273-5523.
  • Online or phone system payments made today will be processed on the next business day.
   Second – Contact a City Treasurer Customer Service Agent

Please call (269) 337-8149 to speak to a customer service agent to inform them that a payment has been made.  Online payments do not show in our system until the next business day.  The customer service agent will note your account and review the online report for pending payments as of 4:30 pm.

How to use Online Bill Pay

NOTE: Tuesday, February 28, 2017, is the FINAL day to pay 2016 property taxes online. On March 1, 2017, all unpaid 2016 property taxes will become delinquent under Michigan law, and taxes on real estate will then be collected only by the Kalamazoo COUNTY Treasurer.

Delinquent taxes on personal property are still collected by the City of Kalamazoo Treasurer and can be paid by mail, phone, online or in person.

The City of Kalamazoo is offering a free option to automatically pay your water and sewer bills.  To sign up for this service print out this form,  ACH Request  and return the form with a voided check to City of Kalamazoo Treasurer, 241 West South Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.

Paperless Billing

The City is happy to offer paperless billing for utility customers. To sign up, visit www.kalamazoocity.org/paperless.


Beginning January 1, 2017, each account will be granted two payment extensions per year, with no further extensions until the following year.
