The Purchasing Division provides assistance to City departments for the cost effective and efficient purchase of goods and services as well as the disposition of surplus property. It is responsible for the coordination of special programs such as outreach to Minority and Women Business Enterprises, prevailing wage compliance, vendor relations, auction of surplus property, and state cooperative purchasing.

The Minority Business Enterprises/Women-Owned Business Enterprise Directory shows a list of businesses in Kalamazoo that are owned by minorities or women.

Surplus Property Auctions
Once a year the City and other governmental units join together to auction surplus property and items seized in criminal and civil cases. For information on the next auction, go to Auctions.
The City also sometimes offers surplus property for sale at the Internet auction site PublicSurplus.com.
