Maps & GIS

The City's GIS service will enable you to search our city-wide mapping system for a particular property. You have the option of viewing the city in detail based on a particular address, property identification number (PIN), or by zooming in to an area of interest. The also offers a variety of mapping data products available for purchase (see below).

An online interactive GIS map is available to search for and locate memorial bricks at the Rose Park Veterans Memorial, located on the Kalamazoo River at the East Gateway to the City of Kalamazoo. Family and friends of veterans have purchased 2,281 brick pavers to memorialize individual veterans. The bricks typically contain the veteran’s name, branch of service, rank and dates of service. There are currently 1,727 bricks available for purchase.

This web service is optimized for more recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer (4.0 and newer), a 56K Internet connection (or faster), and a screen resolution of 1024 x 728. It contains content that may not be viewable in other browsers and/or display settings. Maps and documents made available to the public by the City are not legally recorded maps nor surveys and are not intended to be used as such. The maps and documents are created as part of a Geographic Information System (GIS) that compiles records, information, and data from various city, county, state and federal sources. The source data may contain errors. Additionally, maps and documents prepared by the GIS from multiple sources, even if derived from data that is error free, may not be reliable due to differences in the databases or computer programs of the source materials. The City has attempted to include more specific clarifications or advisories on the specific documents or maps however, none of the maps or documents should be used for navigational, tracking or any other purpose requiring exacting measurement of distance or direction or precision in the depiction of geographic features.
