The City Treasurer's Office is responsible for the collection and deposit of funds due to the City, and the management and prudent investment of idle funds. Residents can pay water & sewer bills, start & stop water service, pay current property tax bills, pay delinquent personal property taxes, pay miscellaneous invoices due to the City, and obtain City tax certificate in order to record deeds & land contracts at the City Treasurer's Office. In addition to visiting the Treasurer's Office window located on the first floor of City Hall, we are happy to offer a variety of other payment options.
Customer service for water and sewer utility customers (including billing, payments, shut-offs for non-payment, transfers of service, and new service installation) is also provided by the Treasurer's Office. Representatives are available weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in person or by calling (269) 337-8149. Applications for new water service or to transfer existing service are available here. Information about the City of Kalamazoo's water system can be found on the Water Resources page.

Property taxes for the entire year are split into two bills; one issued in the summer and one issued the winter.
Summer tax bills are mailed out by July 1 and are due by July 31. Installment payments are allowed for the Summer tax bill. To participate in the six-installment plan a taxpayer should pay the amount of the 1st installment as shown on the front of the bill prior to July 31. Installment payers will receive a monthly statement each month from August to December with the installment due by the end of each month. If you pay each installment on time, there will be no interest or penalties charged to the tax bill.
Winter tax bills are mailed out by December 1 and are due by February 14 of the following year.
